My name is José, I’m 38 years old, and I’ve had a passion for languages for as long as I remember. I grew up in a family where foreign languages and foreign cultures were always really important. This is most likely what drove me to study English as a foreign language at university and why I ended up living in the UK for thirteen years. Living in a foreign country has not only been an eye-opening experience for me, but it changed my life.
I am a native French speaker and I hold a Bachelor’s degree in languages, an MLF PGCE and a Master’s degree in Translation. I have extensive experience in the field of Education, having taught French and Spanish in a British secondary school for over ten years. During that time, I have also gained valuable knowledge in areas such as Sports and Well-being through planning and teaching P.E. lessons. I was also very lucky to organise and lead an overseas school trip to Ardèche (France) for six consecutive years. And now, I feel privileged to work for a progressive online school such as COA International.
Whether teaching in a classroom setting or delivering online lessons, I believe that the key ingredient for high-quality language lessons is tailoring them to students’ individual needs. And what better way than online teaching to deliver engaging, creative and unique lessons as we get to teach smaller groups of students or on a one-to-one basis? I strongly think that technology can be a great tool for the current and future generations of students who decide to go “online”.
