How It Works
Our educators and instructors will be available throughout the school week for consultation, to answer questions, and to provide whatever kind of support you and/or your child might require. We're trained to offer support not only on formal school subjects but also guidance on more personal matters that young people face.
Online Learning Platform
At COA International, the heart of your child’s online classroom experience with us lies in the cutting-edge Canvas Online Platform. The system, as we have adapted it to our Online Learning Platform, allows students to quickly access their courses and optimize their learning experiences in a safe, fun environment. Students, teachers and staff are all seamlessly integrated through this system, allowing them to collaborate in sharing resources, creating content, and working together in groups, pairs or individually. And it all takes place across a single easy-to-navigate, simple platform.
The online classroom experience at COA International is hardly an isolated one. Students participate in real-time interactive classroom activities using an audio-visual chat system and a virtual interactive whiteboard. They’ll interact with other students, submit assignments, ask any questions they might have, and join classroom discussions.
Tutoring
Once your child is enrolled in a COA International course, they will be assigned a dedicated Tutor who will act as your and your child’s main conduit to the school regarding studies and classroom work. Our Tutors track your child’s progress and check in with you regularly, keeping you up to date on your child’s progress.
And the Tutor will act as a one-stop-shop for all your child’s classes. If there are any concerns with your child’s studies in any class, you’ll simply reach out to your assigned Tutor to act as your liaison, thus streamlining the parent/teacher information flow.
One-to-One Tutoring
Our commitment to you and your child means doing whatever it takes to engage them in their education and help them become invested in their learning.
This means that at COA International, our instructors are available to offer extra support through a tricky subject or section, extra help in preparing for an exam, or even just supplemental material beyond the standard curriculum.
Your young learners are the complete focus of our teachers, all of whom are fully qualified and committed to providing them with the best education possible. Thus all lessons are tailored for your child’s specific needs, and each student is given an Action Plan that is regularly reviewed and updated.
And best of all, the entirety of this system encompassing educational quality, attention to detail, and systematic methodology for learning is available online, accessible from the comfort and safety of your home, from the same virtual classroom scheduled to suit your timetable.
Security
Canvas is not only a wonderfully seamless hub for learning – it’s also completely secure.
Think of each student’s activity area as an entirely separate, fully secure and password-protected lockbox that’s only accessible using your child’s password. Only relevant COA International staff can access the assignments students submit or see any questions they might ask.
Your child’s safety is further enhanced because all their communication is fully transparent to you. You will be able to monitor all their activity with your observer access to their account.
Examinations
All students who complete the appropriate courses at COA International are eligible to sit exams like the International GCSEs or A/AS Levels through Cambridge International. But while students can do all of their learning online at home, we cannot administer exams online. To sit exams, students must travel in person to one of 10,000 Cambridge International Exam Centres located in 160 countries around the globe.
But we’re here to help. We’ll provide you with all the necessary exam codes you need to present to the exam centre, and any other pertinent information you need to know to get your child signed up correctly.
Also, as part of the initial information we provide during the pre-enrolment process, you’ll receive contact information for all the Cambridge International Exam Centres in your area. Once you’ve ensured that the exam centre of your choice offers the specific exam level your child needs, the exam centre will arrange accommodations for your child and give you detailed information on obtaining the results.
Examinations with Tutors & Exams
Tutors and Exams provides examination and assessment facilities primarily aimed at private and home educated candidates. The company was established six years ago by husband and wife, Jenny & Chris Spraggett, both of whom have a wealth of experience working in the examination/education sector. In those intervening six years, Tutors and Exams has evolved into a much valued and respected examination venue.
Tutors and Exams currently have five examination centres located around the country: Bolton, Coventry, Doncaster, St Neots Cambridgeshire and Wimbledon. All are approved for examination delivery by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ).
In addition to their examination centres, they also have a dedicated Science laboratory based in Birmingham with the ability to deliver A Level/GCSE Science practicals all year round (consecutive four-day course for each subject, or intensive two-day course over a weekend). They also have access to another Science laboratory located in a London school available to offer Science practicals outside of term time.
In 2019/20 Tutors and Exams delivered examination assessment to over 2,400 learners. They cater for 95% of all GCSE/GCE and IGCSE subjects alongside Functional Skills and have a dedicated SEN specialist who can assist in organising access arrangements if required.
Tutor & Exams work in partnership with many large, respected distance learning providers, including COA International, and they very much value the relationship they have with them to deliver high-quality assessment to their candidates. They also accommodate private training organisations providing qualifications to sizeable cohorts geographically spread throughout the UK.
Tutor & Exams provides examination facilities for a growing number of universities to facilitate their distance learning programmes. The University of London, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh Napier University, Loughborough University and Edinburgh Business School are already valued clients. Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing is also available too.
Examinations with 3A Tutors Ltd
3A Tutors Ltd is an independent examination centre based in Bristol, UK. 3A Tutors Ltd supports private candidates, including home educated students, from across South-West England and South Wales with their GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level examinations. They are registered with all the main awarding bodies including, Cambridge (CAIE), Edexcel, AQA, OCR and WJEC. They offer a wide range of Modern Foreign Languages and the A-Level Science practical endorsements, which are held in state-of-the-art laboratories. Access Arrangements can be organised including the provision of a formal assessment.
